Zone 7 invites residents to save water and win big with new Water Wise Wendy Fix-A-Leak Challenge 2024
LIVERMORE, Calif. (February 29, 2024) – Zone Water Agency, in partnership with California Water Service, Dublin San Ramon Services District, the City of Livermore, and the City of Pleasanton, is excited to announce the Water Wise Wendy Fix-A-Leak Challenge 2024, for residents to find and fix leaks to save water and win prizes throughout March. The contest will be open to residents of Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, and the Dougherty Valley of San Ramon in Zone 7’s service area.
Common household leaks can waste thousands of gallons of water (and money) each year. A worn-out toilet flapper is a common source of household leaks. The average leaky toilet can waste about 200 gallons of water per day! This March, Zone Water Agency and its partners want to empower residents to become water-saving heroes by helping them find and fix leaks in their homes.
Zone 7’s water-saving expert Water-Wise Wendy will lead participants on a leak-detecting adventure with a downloadable checklist available at zone7water.com/challenge. Throughout March, participants can complete each of the different leak-detection challenges around their homes. Participants who complete all the challenges by March 31st and submit the form and documentation online are eligible for a chance to win prizes. Gather your household and make it a family affair! Kids are encouraged to participate in hunting down those pesky leaks too.
Participation details:
- Download Water-Wise Wendy’s Fix-A-Leak Checklist.
- Complete each task and submit proof of completion online.

Earn multiple entries for different tasks,
including:
- Toilet leak inspections
- Inspecting and photographing leak-prone areas
- Fixing a leak and providing proof (Participants are reminded to leave difficult repairs to licensed professionals.)
The top 3 grand prize winners will receive:
- 1st Prize: $200 gift card, Stanley Flowstate tumbler, and a complete set of 2024 Girl Scout Cookies (valued at $310)
- 2nd Prize: $100 gift card, Stanley Flowstate tumbler, and a complete set of 2024 Girl Scout Cookies (valued at $210)
- 3rd Prize: $50 gift card, Stanley Flowstate tumbler, and a complete set of 2024 Girl Scout Cookies (valued at $160)
